Marketing & Brand Building

Retail placement without demand is a slow-motion delisting. The product goes on shelf, nobody is looking for it, velocity comes in under the category threshold, and the item is gone at the next review. Marketing for a wholesale-first brand is not brand-building in the abstract — it is the work of making sure someone walks into the store already wanting the thing.

That changes what is worth doing. Awareness that is not geographically aligned with your distribution is largely wasted; a national influencer campaign does little for a brand in two hundred stores in the Northeast. The programs that work tend to be local, tied to specific accounts, and timed against promotions — so the demand shows up in the stores where the product actually is, during the weeks it is on ad.

The posts here cover positioning and messaging that survives contact with a shelf tag, content and SEO, PR and influencer programs at realistic budgets, and how to concentrate marketing spend where it will register in the velocity numbers a buyer reads.
